KITCHEN
Sparking New Life into an East Dallas Home
The homeowner wanted to transform her dark black and white kitchen into an open modern country cottage kitchen. Before our team could begin this transformation we discovered a few surprises. During demolition, we discovered HVAC freon lines running straight through what was originally the cabinet side of the kitchen. We also discovered that all the plumbing went into the floor instead of into the wall. Step one in this kitchen transformation was relocating all the plumbing into the wall, and transfering all the floor connection so that they no longer took up valuable cabinet space. Then the real fun began!
CHALLENGE: Create a budget-friendly new look without changing the floorplan.
NOTABLE MATERIALS: Hardwood flooring, Quartz counters, Glass tile
ROLE: Design, Construction, and Construction Management
Our design team brought the homeowner’s vision to life with custom cabinets and an apron-front double-basin sink. The custom distressed finish we created for the cabinets was inspired by weathered picket fences.
The glass tile backsplash, quartz counters and under counter lighting give the whole space an inviting, warm glow. We opened up the space between the kitchen and den, and our new diagonally installed hardwood floor highlights that transformation even more.
